Daniel Vance
Editor-in-Chief
Who is Daniel Vance?
Daniel is the founding editor-in-chief of Fitness Tracking Guide and the author of the methodology page (v3.1) that scores every app we publish on. He spent six years as a product lead at a Series B digital-health platform — which means he knows exactly which SDKs an app is using to broker your data, and he writes about it. He is the peer reviewer on every nutrition, weight-loss, sleep and meditation review on the site, the lead author on all long-form articles and methodology revisions, and the person who signs off on every published score.
Daniel set the editorial standards that govern this publication: hands-on testing first, reference-instrument verification, named-author bylines on every published piece, and full conflict-of-interest disclosure. He also reads every Mozilla Privacy Not Included report on a wearable so that you don’t have to.
He runs precisely two days a week, lifts precisely twice, sleeps precisely badly, and is open about it.
